Are You Taking A Smart Drug Or A Nootropic?

You've probably seen the movie Limitless starring Bradley Cooper or perhaps Lucy starring Scarlett Johansson. Both of these movies share something similar - the presence of a smart drug enabling humans to be almost extraterrestrial cognitively. And although the nootropics and smart drugs that we have available in the market aren't as super human as these movies show, we definitely are moving forward with it.

However, there's a common misconception: that smart drugs are the same with nootropics. When actually there's a difference between these two. You must buy adrafinil today.

So what's a smart drug? A smart drug, in general, is a prescribed medication or off-label drug used mainly to treat some sort of mental or cognitive disorder.

The most common smart drugs in the market are dextroamphetamine and/or methylphenidate-based and they belong in the stimulant class. They are used to treat symptoms linked to ADHD - although legitimate and illegitimate off-label use is vehement.  And while they do promote improved focus and energy in some people, others get the other side of the coin to their body and brain.  Smart drugs, especially the ones in the stimulant class produce spikes in norepinephrine and dopamine.

This reinforces tolerance and formation of habits related to mood, appetite, cardiac function, and stress levels - especially to teenagers and young adults.

There are also other famous atypical stimulant "smart drug" used to treat narcolepsy (i.e. Modafinil and Adrafinil) although their effects on cognition beyond wakefulness needs more proof, the side are very rare. According to a couple of studies, if attention problems already exist, it also possible for ones risk of side effect risk seems to increase as well.

In comparison to smart drugs, a nootropics, in general are non-prescribed compounds - same as with herb, vitamins, and other supplements. Whether it is natural or synthetic, nootropics can increase or protect cognition to a certain extent.  The prevalence of research in the last 4 decades shows some effects on attention, aging, focus, and possibly even cellular metabolism.

So to define a nootropic, it is something that improves cognition or provides from protection to the brain without the alarming side effects. And recently, people often think that nootropics are used not to treat any pathological problem or mental condition directly, but instead to provide assistance in order to maximize function, protect against possible long term risk, and provide people with daily boost. True nootropic full blends and ingredient can now be largely extracted from natural ingredients - making it cleaner and safer. Read this Adrafinil review.
